Roadies….. one of the most popular shows in India hosted by MTv. There is definitely something unique about this show which attracts youngsters to their audition ground. I even like watching this show; however there are few things which I don’t understand about this show. Why people are so crazy about this show? Why Judges are so rude on this show? And why someone who gets selected feels so proud in saying that I am Roadie?
I am a great follower of this show and sometime feels that people who come on this show is just to get some fame, get some bold image among their audience. Judges rudeness are some time justified because with their immense experience they easily catch a guy if he is trying to make deceive to them, but some time they unnecessarily shout and create a disarray kind of environment.
People feel so proud in saying that they are a Roadie…..I don’t think they actually understands the meaning of Roadie and to be a Roadie you actually don’t have to participate in this Roadie show. You cannot make yourself a Roadie if you don’t have that kind of determination and approach, and it actually comes from birth and the kind of environment you have been from the time of your birth.
If I will start explaining about Roadies in plain English, there would be hardly few people who would like to become a Roadie, “The term "roadie" is a nickname for "road crew." A roadie is a technician that travels on tour with a band, and the term can refer to a wide variety of job titles. Guitar techs, bass techs, drum techs, lighting techs, and stage managers, among others, are all part of the roadie category. The roadie serves an essential purpose, and does his job to ensure that the band will be able to play at the venue with proper sound and lighting”.
I truly respect this profession, but at the same time I would like to ask questions to youngsters who actually participate in this show, who have better qualification and carrier in life and still leave the things behind just to involve themselves in this show and become a Roadie. I don’t think they want to become a Roadie, they actually want to get fame and popularity, they don’t want to prove themselves or anyone else they actually want to earn money through this show and want to start on in glamour world.
I think Roadies judges needs to really understand the perspective of participants mind, and come up with people who actually don’t want to get fame and popularity but are actual Roadies.
I think the whole selection procedure is wrong, people know what Roadie is and they also know the popularity of this show. They all try to impress judges by doing all daring things they can do at the time of interview, some time they make fool to judges and get selected and some time they get caught and thrown out of the show with huge disregard.
I think the best way to chose participant in Roadies is not to those who already know what Roadies is, but to those who actually don’t know anything about this show. Instead of doing auditions in different cities people should be judged on real time bases by putting them in to an uncertain situation.
In selected cities Roadies crew can easily make a panic situation in any location and as per the reactions from every individual, they can easily judge a person’s real talent to become a roadies. Locations can be anything like a pub, hotel, bus stand or a crowed place. Even people who stay in villages do have real talent to become Roadie.
I think its high time for this show, its Roadies-8 and we are still watching the same thing repeatedly every year. I think it’s a high time and makers should take further steps to take Roadies to next level.
Yes very true bro. Even i agree with you its just people are mad about it and dont know why they want to be roadie.. you rock bro keep it up!!!!!
